What is the AK Zeitspeicher app used for?

AK Zeitspeicher is an application created by the Austrian Arbeiterkammer (AK) to help employees keep accurate records of their working hours. Correct time records are important for your pay and for documenting overtime and additional work.

The app provides a convenient and transparent way to keep your records up to date.

How the AK Zeitspeicher works

You can use the AK Zeitspeicher on a smartphone through the ak-zeitspeicher.at website. A single click is enough to record your working time. The application is also available free of charge for iPhone and Android devices through the App Store and Google Play, so you can use it on several devices.

What you can record

AK Zeitspeicher offers several options for recording working hours and activities accurately. You can document your daily working hours as well as leisure activities. At the end of the month, you can create detailed reports showing the number of hours recorded.

Reports can be saved and printed in PDF or Excel format.

Custom lists and multiple time records

The app can be adapted to your individual needs. You can create your own recording lists and track several sets of working hours at the same time. This is useful if you need to record working hours for multiple projects or the duration of journeys when your work takes place in different locations.

If you activate the relevant option, Zeitspeicher can also save locations.

Data storage and later entries

All your data is stored on secure servers and treated as fully confidential. The information is not disclosed to third parties under any circumstances. If you forget to record something, you can add the information later.

Practical steps

  1. Open ak-zeitspeicher.at or download the app for your iPhone or Android device.
  2. Record your working hours and any relevant activities as they occur.
  3. Create separate recording lists if you need to track multiple projects, journeys or sets of hours.
  4. Activate location recording if you want the relevant locations to be saved.
  5. At the end of the month, create a report and save or print it as a PDF or Excel file.
  6. Add any missed entries later so that your records remain complete.
